Should WWE change its name to World Sports Entertainment, Inc?

Question: Should WWE change its name to World Sports Entertainment, Inc?
WWE refuses to call its product professional wrestling, why should they have the word “wrestling” in the name of the company? Shouldn’t “Sports Entertainment” be in the company name since that’s what they insist on calling their product?
Please read past the second word. I said “World Sports Entertainment, Inc.” not “World Sports, Inc.” Meaning it’s a sports entertainment company, not a wrestling company. They promote sports entertainment, they don’t promote wrestling.

Why is the WWE Wrestling in the Sports category in Yahoo Q&A?

Question: Why is the WWE Wrestling in the Sports category in Yahoo Q&A?
Shouldn’t it be under Entertainment and Music? It is all scripted. Clearly, wrestling is in existence for the show business, but relies on a mass audience to create it. The money and fame come merely as seconds in wrestling, for the audience must be entertained. Thus, the wrestling industry’s ability to bend the audiences’ sediments with every move is a raw example of mass culture entertainment.

Your reaction to An Impact Wrestling “Spoiler” from Fox Sports in Australia?

Question: Your reaction to An Impact Wrestling “Spoiler” from Fox Sports in Australia?
Newly-crowned TNA world heavyweight wrestling champion Bobby Roode will watch his belt-winning bout for the first time alongside his Australian fans on Saturday night.

Bobby Roode

Tag team … Roode makes up the money half of Beer Money Inc.

Roode, who claimed the world title from former tag-team partner James Storm in October, is visiting Australia for the first time and will host a viewing party for his fans in Sydney.

He is yet to re-live the match himself and says he is looking forward to being a part of the crowd, although he admits it will be hard not criticise his performance.

“I have not seen it so that’ll be my first time as well with everybody else there so it’ll be pretty exciting,” Roode told foxsports.com.au.

“Normally I usually watch it (the fight) by myself.

“I’m one of those guys that I watch for the small things and try to pick up on my mistakes.

“So it’ll be very unusual sitting there with 200+ people yelling and screaming and I’m trying to focus in on what I’m actually doing and what I can actually improve on.

“But it will be fun, it will be fun.”

Roode says he’s relieved to finally be world champion but recognises that with the title comes a lot of responsibility.

“It’s been 13 long years, a lot of sacrifices along the way and it’s always been a dream of mine since being a small child, being a fan, dreaming of what it’ll be like to be a world champion as a professional wrestler.

“I know now that this is just the beginning to be honest with you as far as with that world title comes a lot of responsibilities.

“Being in Main Events and being the focus of the company and trying to take the company to the next level, getting ratings, things like that – there’s a lot of pressure.”

He’s certainly not planning to rest on his laurels. Roode says he is hoping to write his name into the wrestling record books.

“I’d like to go down as one of the greatest champions in the history of our company and to maybe hold the record to have that belt for longest time.”

But first priority for Roode is thanking his fans and hopefully finding some new ones.

“I know that we have a lot of support over here and I know that the fan support is continuing to grow over here.

“Hopefully my visit here will create some more buzz and get some more fans watching on Saturday night on Fuel TV.”

Book TNA Turning Point from Main Event to watch Bobby defend his title live from 12pm, Monday November 14.

Well, his remarks are kind of weird considering he won it by disqualification.
But I think it’s good he’s trying to improve and is being grateful for being the TNA Champion.

Why is Pro Wrestling discussed in the Sports > Wrestling category?

Question: Why is Pro Wrestling discussed in the Sports > Wrestling category?
Professional Wrestling is clearly labeled as an entertainment item and not a sport- it isn’t the activity done in the Olympics, so why does Yahoo continue to allow Professional “Wrestling” in this category?
McLovin’ > I asked why PRO Wrestling (which ISNT a Sport) was discussed in a SPORTS related sub category titled Wrestling.

I agree with you on your statements about amateur wrestling.
LOL.. this is not a “troll”. Its a valid question.

Why do they put wrestling in the sports section when it clearly isn’t a sport?

Question: Why do they put wrestling in the sports section when it clearly isn’t a sport?
Ok, I should clarify that I mean “Professional Wrestling” as seen on TV. I in no way mean actual wrestling, which is probably the hardest sport there is in my opinion.
